Where you choose the trailer option, our solar systems are installed onto purpose-built trailers that are supplied engineered and road-legal — NZTA Class TB light trailers (GVM under 3,500 kg) with a current Warrant of Fitness (WoF) at the time of delivery. The solar, battery, inverter and 230 V electrical systems are installed by EWRB-registered electricians and independently inspected by a Licensed Electrical Inspector, with a Certificate of Compliance issued for every unit — trailer or skids. Trailer builds tow on a standard Class 1 (car) licence, provided your combined vehicle-plus-trailer weight (GCM) stays within your licence limit (6,000 kg on a full Class 1) — check your tow vehicle against the trailer's weight before towing. Skid-mounted builds are static, non-towable installs placed or craned into position, so trailer registration, WoF and towing requirements do not apply to them.

Frequently asked

When does Tier 1 ship?
Every unit is built to order. Indicative build time for Solo is 30 days from order confirmation, subject to final build specification.
How do I order?
Register your interest or request a quote and we'll confirm your build slot, specification and pricing directly. No deposit is required to enquire.
Will a Tier 1 actually run my site?
Tier 1 is sized for one-operator draw. For an 8-house residential build or mid-size festival, look at Tier 2 — Crew. Use the calculator on the homepage with your real fuel spend and load profile to size the right tier.
Can I tow Tier 1 on a car licence?
Yes — the 2.4 m trailer build tows on a standard Class 1 (car) licence. Check your tow vehicle plus trailer combined weight (GCM) stays within your licence limit before towing. The skid-mounted build is a static install and is not towed.
Trailer or skids?
Both are available. The 2.4 m trailer from NZ$19,123 ex-GST is the mobile option. Skids, from NZ$15,223 ex-GST, are a lower-cost non-towable static option for fixed or craned installs where the unit stays in one place.
Can I expand it later?
Solar can be lifted from 1.43 kW to 2.85 kW with up to three floor-mounted 475 W panels, and battery from 5 kWh to 10 kWh with a second 5 kWh module. The 6 kW inverter is not expandable on Solo — step up to Tier 2 — Crew for more inverter capacity. A cargo bay is not available on this model. Add-on modules — irrigation pump, espresso & hospitality, PA & lighting, tool & charging, and insulated chiller — are planned as future optional extras rather than standard equipment.
